What is eduroam?

Eduroam (Education Roaming) gives users simple and secure access to the internet through a wireless network connection. Users of organizations that are a member of eduroam, can use eduroam not only through their own organization, but also through other organizations that are member of eduroam. You can find more information about eduroam at www.eduroam.org. VITO is a member of eduroam.

How does it work?

Users always use their username and password that they’ve received from their own organization. Therefore it’s not necessary to request temporary accounts when they are visiting other organizations that are also a member of eduroam: to gain access to the internet you connect to the eduroam network by using your own account.
